How To Apply Acrylic Nails With Kiss Kit

Acrylic Dip Powder Nails: A Step-by-Step Guide

Introduction

Acrylic dip powder nails are a popular choice for those who want the look of acrylic nails without the hassle of liquid monomer. They are also a good option for people who have sensitive skin or allergies to acrylic liquid. In this guide, we will walk you through the steps on how to apply acrylic dip powder nails at home.

Materials

  • Acrylic dip powder kit (includes base coat, activator, dip powders, and top coat)
  • Nail file
  • Nail buffer
  • Acetone-based nail polish remover
  • Cotton balls or pads
  • Cuticle pusher
  • Dip tray
  • Lamp (optional)

Step 1: Prepare Your Nails

Start by filing your nails to the desired length and shape. Then, gently buff the surface of your nails to remove any shine. This will help the dip powder adhere better.

Step 2: Clean Your Nails

Use acetone-based nail polish remover to clean your nails and remove any dirt or oil. This will help the dip powder adhere better.

Step 3: Apply Base Coat

Apply a thin coat of base coat to your nails and allow it to air dry for a few minutes.

Step 4: Dip Your Nails into the Powder

Once the base coat is dry, dip your entire fingernail into the dip powder. Gently slide your finger into the powder, making sure to coat the entire nail.

Step 5: Tap Off Excess Powder

Tap off any excess powder by gently tapping your finger on the edge of the dip tray.

Step 6: Repeat Steps 4-6

Repeat steps 4-6 until you are satisfied with the thickness of the dip powder.

Step 7: Apply Activator

Once you are satisfied with the thickness of the dip powder, apply a thin coat of activator to your nails. Allow the activator to dry for a few minutes.

Step 8: File and Buff Your Nails

Once the activator is dry, file and buff your nails to smooth out any rough edges.

Step 9: Apply Top Coat

To finish, apply a thin coat of top coat to your nails and allow it to air dry for a few minutes.

Tips

  • If you want a more durable finish, you can cure your nails under a lamp for 30-60 seconds after each step.
  • If you make a mistake, you can easily remove the dip powder by soaking your nails in acetone-based nail polish remover.
  • To change the color of your dip powder nails, simply remove the old dip powder with acetone-based nail polish remover and apply a new color.
