After a disappointing start to the season, Bayer Leverkusen returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-0 victory over Mainz on Saturday. The Werkself took the lead in the first half through Moussa Diaby, and further goals from Jeremie Frimpong and Adam Hlozek sealed the victory.
The win moves Leverkusen up to 10th in the Bundesliga table, four points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
First win of the season for Stuttgart as they beat Augsburg 2-1
VfB Stuttgart picked up their first win of the season on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over Augsburg.Goals from Wataru Endo and Luca Pfeiffer gave Stuttgart a comfortable lead, and although Augsburg pulled one back late on, it was not enough to prevent the hosts from claiming all three points.
The win moves Stuttgart up to 15th in the Bundesliga table, level on points with Augsburg.
Leipzig lose ground in title race with a 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin
RB Leipzig lost ground in the Bundesliga title race on Sunday as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin. The Red Bulls took the lead through Emil Forsberg, but Union hit back with goals from Sheraldo Becker and Jordan Siebatcheu to claim all three points.
The defeat leaves Leipzig third in the Bundesliga table, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
